Parade Check-In / Check-Out Procedure
Directions to Parade Check-In
Many roads around downtown will be blocked and "normal" routes might be difficult to traverse. The only way for parade entries to get to the staging area is by traveling south on Neil Street and turning East on Washington Street, then proceed to the staging area/parking lot (behind The News-Gazette main building).
Participant Check-In (Saturday, Dec. 2 from 4:00–5:00 pm)
To facilitate a smooth transition from traffic to the staging area, all entries should
approach the staging area from Neil Street turning East on Washington Street (please
review the map). We will direct you to where you should park for Parade line-up and
provide you with your assigned number in the parade. At the parking lot/staging area
you will find an orange cone that corresponds to your assigned number.
Inspection and Judging will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Parade begins promptly at 5:30 pm.
Participant Check-Out (Approx. 6:30–7:00 pm)
The parade winds its way to the intersection of Main and Neil Streets. Santa will
remain at the intersection for the Tree Lighting Ceremony. All other parade entries
should return to the staging area/parking lot to exit.
